Eilish McCann lives in County Wexford, Ireland.
Her practice includes painting, printmaking and drawing. Eilish was shortlisted for the Hennessy Portrait Prize in 2017 and highly commended in the 2018 Moth Art Prize. She was awarded second prize Print Award at Impressions12, Galway selected by Norman Ackroyd. She received a Professional Artist Award from Cavan County Council in 2018. Recent solo shows include 'Go Figure' at the Civic Centre, Belturbet, Co. Cavan 2019 and ‘Somewhere to live’, at The Presentation Centre, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford in 2018. Among group exhibitions she has contributed to are beep2018, 2014, 2012, international contemporary painting prize, Swansea, Wales, the Hennessy Portrait Prize 2017, National Gallery, Dublin, Claremorris Open 2017, 2012, Paint Like You Mean It, Edinburgh 2014, Now Wakes the Sea, Kinsale Arts Festival, 2013 and New Prints 2011/Summer, IPCNY, New York. Eilish graduated with a BA in English and German studies from Trinity College Dublin in 1995 following this with a certificate course in Animation Drawing Studies in Ballyfermot College of Further Education, Dublin in 1998. She gained a diploma in Art and Design with Distinction from GMIT, Galway in 2001. |
