Eilish McCann is a painter based in County Wexford, Ireland. She makes figurative work in paint and print mediums. She has exhibited extensively throughout Ireland and in group shows abroad. Recent exhibitions include Royal Watercolour Society Open, London (2022), the Ruth Borchard Prize, UK (2021) and Beep Wales (2020). She was shortlisted for the Hennessy Portrait Prize at the National Gallery of Ireland in 2017.
Eilish holds a Diploma in Art and Design with distinction from the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (2001) and recently completed the Turps Art School, London correspondence course in painting 2019-2021. She has received a Visual Arts Bursary and a Professional Development Award from the Arts Council (2020). Previous studies include a certificate course in Animation Drawing Studies at Ballyfermot College of Further Education, Dublin (1998) and a BA Honours in English and German studies from Trinity College Dublin (1995).
