Eilish McCann is a painter based in County Wexford, Ireland. She makes figurative work in paint and print mediums. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, including Beep Wales (2022, 2020), RWS Open, UK (2022) and the Hennessy Portrait Prize, the National Gallery of Ireland (2017). Eilish was recently shortlisted for the Jackson's Painting Prize (2023).
She holds a Diploma in Art and Design with distinction from the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (2001) and recently completed the Turps Art School, London correspondence course in painting 2019-2021. She has received a Visual Arts Bursary, a Professional Development Award and an Agility Award from the Arts Council. Previous studies include a certificate course in Animation Drawing Studies at Ballyfermot College of Further Education, Dublin (1998) and a BA Honours in English and German studies from Trinity College Dublin (1995).
